I’m Nancy (Olmedo) FitzGerald, an artist and co-owner of ArtSí Creative. Born and raised on the peaceful island of Grosse Ile, Michigan—just across the water from Detroit’s vibrant pulse—I grew up balancing nature’s calm with the city’s cultural heartbeat. That duality ignited my creative spirit and still fuels my work today.

 

My artistic roots run deep, nurtured by my father’s unwavering encouragement. A Quito, Ecuador native, he filled our home with a love for culture and creativity that continues to inspire me. Painting is my way of capturing life’s beauty—vibrant abstracts and fleeting human moments come alive through bold colors, rich textures, and dynamic brushstrokes. Each piece unfolds organically, a one-of-a-kind celebration of joy and wonder.

 

In college, I studied art and business, where I met Joe, my husband and collaborator. With his deep roots in the custom picture frame industry, we founded ArtSí Creative, blending our passions into something truly special. Now settled in North Carolina, we’re proud parents to two amazing sons and their wonderful wives—though Michigan will always be home in my heart.
